GL_80: Symmetry, Representations and Geometry

In July 2027, we are hosting a conference to celebrate the 80th birthday of Gus Lehrer
and his many contributions to mathematics. Over a career spanning six decades, his work
has shaped representation theory and Lie theory. He has produced groundbreaking results
in cellular algebras, Hecke algebras, reflection groups, invariant theory, and the
topology of configuration spaces and hyperplane arrangements. Through his students,
collaborators and leadership, he has had a lasting influence on mathematics in Australia
and internationally. The meeting will bring together researchers in areas connected to
Gus's work to present recent developments and new directions.
